My work consists principally of mobiles (kinetic, four-dimensional) and stabiles (three-dimensional), many of them with minimalist tendencies. Others, made of natural materials, less so.
I have been asked “what does it mean?” and “what does it do?” Good questions, particularly pertinent to abstract art. It seems to me that an artist, in choosing this level of abstraction reflects the question back to the viewer: the abstraction invites interpretation by the viewer as much as any explanation by the creator. The third and fourth dimensions enrich the enquiry.
